In 2017 I made two short docs for UNHCR’s No Stranger Place series.
In the first film, retired doctor Hilary and academic Jim Parle had a spare room at their home in Birmingham. They have invited septagenarian refugee Yonasskindis to live with them. He has fled war and persecution in Eritrea.
In the other film, I spent time with the Goldhill family in Cambridge. They are a Jewish family who have welcomed devout Syrian Muslim refugee Faraj into their home. Faraj is gay and was forced to flee his home in wartorn Aleppo.
YONNASKINDIS, Eritrea
FARAJ, Syria
