I'm a Producer | Director based in the UK, specialising in TV current affairs and documentaries.
My work combines the rigour of journalism with the heart of documentary storytelling.
After a stint as a runner and researcher in London in the 2000s, I started producing and directing in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where I made short films for NGOs and documentaries for Al Jazeera English. I have since worked all over the world.
Most recently I series directed and filmed the two-part documentary Disappeared: Mexico's Missing 43 for BBC Two. The series investigates the case of 43 students who disappeared off buses in the Mexican town of Iguala, Guerrero in 2014. The films reveal the Mexican State's involvement in major international drug trafficking - "Corruption on a mindblowing scale...with illuminating footage and interviews...an engrossing two-part documentary", wrote The Guardian.
Before that, in 2022, I directed Trump: the Comeback? for BBC Two. On the eve of Midterm elections, it was a road trip across the USA presented by US Special Correspondent Katty Kay, talking to rising political stars and voters about the 2024 Presidential race and the fate of American democracy. The Times called it, "A lucid snapshot of the Trumpinator's America".
I have made single documentaries and series which have broadcast on BBC One, Two, Three, for Panorama and Newsnight, as well as on Channel 4, Al Jazeera English, VICE and for the New York Times.
My films have received critical praise, as well as being nominated and shortlisted for a number of awards including One World Media (Nigeria's Female Suicide Bombers and Roman V Kremlin) and Grierson Awards (Nigeria's Female Suicide Bombers).
I love learning about the world through filmmaking and, most of all, spending time with contributors, developing relationships and finding the best way to tell their stories.
